Maxine on The National Anthem

I'm sorry, but after hearing they want to sing OUR National Anthem in Spanish - enough is TOO much!

NEVER did they sing it in Italian, Japanese, Polish, Irish-Celtic, German, Portuguese, Greek, French, or any other language because of immigration.

It was written by Francis Scott Key (in English) and should be sung word for word the way it was written. The news broadcasts gave a translation that's NOT even close.

Sorry if this offends anyone, THIS IS MY COUNTRY! Would you allow me to come to your country and then allow me to demand that you sing your National Anthem in ENGLISH? And, because I make this statement DOES NOT mean I'm against immigration!
YOU ARE WELCOME HERE IN MY COUNTRY

Welcome to come through like everyone else has:
  1. Get a sponsor!
  2. Get a place to lay your head!
  3. Get a job!
  4. Live by OUR rules!
  5. Pay YOUR taxes!
  6. And LEARN THE LANGUAGE LIKE ALL OTHER IMMIGRANTS HAVE IN THE PAST!!!
  7. And please don't demand that we hand over our lifetime savings of social security funds to you to make up for ''your'' losses.

Maxine on Relevant Logic

This is too precious not to include here:

Maxine on Relevant 'Logic'
Everyone concentrates on the problems we're having in this country lately;
1. illegal immigration
2. hurricane recovery
3. alligators attacking people in Florida

Not me. I concentrate on solutions for the problems. It's a win-win situation.
1. Dig a moat the length of the Mexican border.
2. Send the dirt to New Orleans to raise the level of the levies.
3. Put the Florida alligators in the moat along the Mexican border.
Any other problems you would like for me to solve today?

Some Links To illustrate my point

Yesterday I made some comments, but didn't back them up. So here's some links to the stories. Most of them are from MSNBC

Muslim voters detect a snub from Obama
Evangelical Leader Attacks Obama on Religious Views

There are others, but these are the most recent two that caught my eye. There are times with this candidate that I'm reminded of the chorus from a country song that contends, "if you don't stand for something, you'll never stand for anything." Barak Obama just keeps raising the hair on the back of my neck.

The Man's Got A Problem

Have you been keeping up with Obama's troubles lately? It seems he just can't do anything right. Christians have been against him based on his Muslim upbringing, Muslems are now giving him grief because he has started snubbing them. James Dobson has now started deriding his view on how the Bible should be applied to government.

So what do you do all day?

So being newly retired, what were we going to do with ourselves all day. Both of us were used to working every day. What we did was to get fat! We sat and watched tv or went to the park and strolled around leisurely. His knees got steadily worse and he was using either a cane or crutches to get around. Not good!

Reluctant Retirement

So, what exactly is reluctant retirement? Most people work hard so that they can retire. Unfortuantely, that's not what happened to me. My DH's physical condition was deteriorating. The VAMC in Hampton, VA wasn't helping him much. We couldn't make it on what I was earning alone so we needed to do something, anything. The only useful suggestion this doctor has was to find a wheelchair or a warmer climate.

A warmer climate what was we found in FL. There the VA doctors helped us to obtain a disability pension for him from the Veterans Administration. The only catch was that if I worked, they would deduct what I made from his pension. So, I retired, reluctantly!
